Bookmarks and internal hyperlinks pointing to pages outside the extracted range are removed. Links to external URLs and links within extracted pages are preserved.
Yes. Splitting works on any PDF, including scanned ones. It reorganises pages without altering or re-encoding page content.
If the page count is not evenly divisible by N, the last chunk contains the remaining pages rather than being discarded. A 10-page PDF split every 3 pages produces files of 3, 3, 3, and 1 page.
No. Pages are copied exactly as-is using pdf-lib. No re-rendering, no re-encoding. Text, images, and vector graphics are preserved without loss.
PDFs with an open password cannot be split here. Remove the password first using the Unlock PDF tool, then split.
